Sioux Rapids City Council offers Public Works Associate position to Bradley White pending checks

Sioux Rapids, Iowa — The Sioux Rapids City Council voted unanimously Oct. 22 to offer the Public Works Associate position to Bradley White at a wage of $20.00 per hour, with city benefits contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment drug test and driving-records approval.

The action came during a special meeting called to order by Mayor Jim Wise at 6:00 p.m. Council member Kevin Thompson moved to extend the job offer; Council member Lacy Garberding seconded the motion. The council recorded ayes from Mayor Jim Wise and council members Lacy Garberding, Mike Gunderson, Mike Katschman, Joel McCoy and Kevin Thompson; there were no nays or absences.

Earlier in the session Council member Mike Katschman moved, and Kevin Thompson seconded, to approve the meeting agenda; that motion also passed unanimously. The council then voted to close the special meeting for a closed-session discussion; at 7:25 p.m. Joel McCoy moved to adjourn that closed session, and Mike Katschman seconded. The closed session adjourned by unanimous vote.

The council scheduled its next regular meeting for Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 100 Front Street. City Clerk Amanda Caraway attested the minutes; Mayor Jim Wise also signed the attestation. The special meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
