The Sidney Community School District Board of Directors on June 12 approved a series of routine contracts and a resolution to participate in the Storm Protection Fund.
Director Megan Franks moved to approve a Floors Inc. bid of $55,202.00 for junior/senior high carpet installation, subject to a change in project scope to match the itemized list provided; Vice President Justin Travis seconded and the motion carried. The board also approved a Jones Mechanical estimate of $12,870.00 to replace the HVAC in High School Room 112 and ratified the Hummel insurance renewal quote presented earlier in the meeting.
The board passed a resolution certifying participation in the Storm Protection Fund by roll call, with Director Justin Travis, Director Megan Franks and President Renee Johnson recorded as voting Yes. The board approved a three-year lease for a CaseIH tractor from Vetter’s at $8,787.19 per year to be paid from the PPEL fund.
Several contract and agreement approvals were taken after Director Teresa Graham lost her Zoom connection at 7:23 p.m.; the meeting record shows the later votes carried 3 ayes to 0 nays. The board also approved Green Hills AEA agreements for transfer of state funding and English learner virtual supports and services.
All motions were moved and seconded by board members during the meeting and are reflected in the official minutes. The board tabled action on bids for an eave/overhang insulation project and a set of policy updates to a future meeting.
