Pine Springs council approves $150,000 CD investment, tables several financial items and ordinances

The Pine Springs City Council on March 4 approved a $150,000 investment in certificates of deposit and took several routine financial actions while tabling multiple items for April consideration.
Mayor Christensen moved to approve the January financial report that included investing $150,000 in CDs; Council member Adams seconded and all council members present voted to approve the investment and the report. The council also approved transfer of funds from Royal Credit Union to Premier Bank; Mayor Christensen made the motion, Kinney seconded, and the motion passed. Council members noted that the city’s CDs will mature on March 14 and that those funds will move to Royal Credit’s money market account at that time.
The council voted to table the February financial reports and the formal approval of the 2024 financials until the April meeting. Mayor Christensen moved to table each item and Kinney seconded both motions; both motions passed. The council also approved payment of the month’s bills on a separate motion by Mayor Christensen, seconded by Kinney.
On legal matters, City Attorney Christina Benson read a resolution to publish the summary of Ordinance 35. Mayor Christensen moved to approve that resolution, Adams seconded, and the council approved it. Separately, revisions to Ordinance 32 v2 (previously defeated in February) were discussed; Mayor Christensen moved to table consideration of Ordinance 32 v2 until April, Kardashian seconded, and the motion passed.
The council discussed road maintenance needs on Warner Avenue and 62nd Street and considered a $4,000 striping appropriation. Adams initially moved to approve the striping funding and Kinney seconded; after discussion Adams rescinded that motion and moved to table the striping request until April, which the council approved.
The meeting concluded with routine items including no building permits for the month and an update that Southwest Quadrant right-of-way documentation will be ready in April. Mayor Christensen moved to adjourn at 8:29 p.m.; Adams seconded and the council adjourned.
