Highlights include an approved site plan for Fire Station 32 (Surfer Station 32), which is now moving to building-permit review, and an active conditional-use permit review for a gym tenant (Gold’s Gem) that staff said is proceeding alongside an interim code amendment to allow the use. Hannah also reported business-license activity (a vending-machine business withdrew its application) and summarized code and annexation work: staff will present an extension of the interim R7 ordinance to City Council in June 2026, and council was scheduled to take final action on the Davis annexation following public hearings.
Staff noted that STEP/co-housing code work is on hold pending a state bill that extended a deadline to March 2028 and that critical-areas code updates will proceed through 2026 with dedicated web pages for public materials.
