School board adopts resolution honoring Christopher T. Link for service

The Roanoke City School Board on June 23 adopted a resolution of appreciation recognizing Christopher T. Link for his service to the board from Feb. 3, 2025 through June 30, 2026. Vice Chair Cherry read the resolution outlining Links committee work (curriculum and instruction, disciplinary, boundary and feasibility, budget and capital expense, transportation) and his contributions as a professional engineer and project manager who applied technical expertise to budgeting and capital projects.
Board members offered personal remarks about Links thoughtfulness, critical questions and commitment. Miss Trigg said, "Chris, you're definitely going to be missed. It's been an honor to work alongside of you." Dr. Jameson praised Link for asking hard questions that helped shape deliberations. Dr. White, speaking for staff, thanked him for his leadership and partnership. Mr. Link briefly thanked the board and the community. The board then presented a framed resolution and took photographs while the audience applauded.
The resolution was adopted by voice vote and the board moved on to remaining business.
