Franklin County prosecutor unveils office’s first annual report, stresses transparency

Shayla Favor, Franklin County prosecutor, presented her office’s first annual report for 2025 during the Board of Commissioners’ June 16 meeting, calling the document “one way we are pulling back the curtain” on the office’s work.
"This report reflects my commitment to transparency, accountability, and ensuring that Franklin County residents understand how my office serves them every single day," Favor said. She described the report as containing case data, division highlights, community engagement efforts and recognition of staff who carry out the office’s mission.
Favor told commissioners she wants residents to know the office’s role extends beyond criminal prosecutions to supporting victims, protecting consumers, advising county agencies and pursuing civil actions. She said she brought printed copies to the meeting and noted the report is available on the prosecutor’s office website under the "What We Do" tab.
President O'Grady thanked Favor for the presentation. No formal action was taken beyond the presentation; Favor framed the report as an informational step toward building public trust and said the office plans to expand community engagement in the years ahead.
The presentation occurred at the start of the board’s June 16 general session and was followed by community recognition items on the agenda.
