Foxborough Select Board approves MOAs, donations, pole petitions and event data sheets in consent actions

At the June 23 meeting the Foxborough Select Board cleared a series of consent-agenda items by voice vote.

Labor and personnel: the board approved two memorandum of agreement (MOA) housekeeping items with United Steelworkers Local 9517 Units A and B to reflect the inclusion or placement of a payroll/HR administrator role in the appropriate union unit.

Donations and appointment: the board accepted a $300 donation from Claudia O'Leary to fund two scholarships for the Foxboro Youth Police Academy, a $400 donation from Friends of Foxboro Seniors for the Foxboro Community Center Smoky Bites event, and a $1,500 sponsorship from Roger C. and Cynthia Rumsey for a Cultural Concert. The board also appointed Linda Mihaly to the Foxboro Cultural Council with a term ending May 31, 2029.

Infrastructure and events: the board approved two pole petitions for Massachusetts Electric Company and Verizon New England Inc. to install JO poles on Walnut Street and Chestnut Street, and approved additional data sheets submitted by Kraft Sports and Entertainment for the New England Patriots 2026 season and for concerts including Chris Brown & Usher (Aug. 17, 2026) and Karol G (Sept. 12, 2026). The board accepted Schneider Electric’s donation of two trees and volunteer planting assistance for Payson Road; Schneider’s sustainability project manager, Natalie Boyd, confirmed the contribution and short-term maintenance plan.

All consent items recorded in the minutes were approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
