City schedules runoff-management workshop with Barr Engineering; Highway 13 closure remains on November timetable

Jennifer Koehler, city engineer with Barr Engineering, told the Lilydale City Council on Sept. 9 that she and City Administrator Mary Tollefson are meeting with the Minnesota Department of Transportation to finalize a bluff runoff management plan and recommended a workshop with council members to discuss next steps before the November meeting. Koehler also said there was no change to the planned November closure of Highway 13.
Councilmember Lyle Hanzal asked if there was an update on the Highway 13 closure; Koehler said she was not aware of any change to the November date. Koehler requested the workshop so council members could review runoff-management options and decide how to proceed; the council agreed to schedule that workshop ahead of the November council meeting.
The council did not take formal action on the runoff plan during the Sept. 9 meeting; the workshop will be an opportunity for staff and council to review technical details, alternatives and possible budget or schedule implications before any vote.
