Baldwin announces Fall Festival, Movies of the Market and fall cleanup day

Baldwin, Oct. 8, 2024 — City officials announced several community events at the Oct. 8 work session: the seventh annual Baldwin Fall Festival will take place Oct. 19 from noon to 8 p.m. at the Baldwin Farmers Market in downtown City Park, Movies of the Market is scheduled for Oct. 25 at 8:30 p.m., and a fall cleanup bulky-waste pickup day is set for Nov. 7.
The Fall Festival will feature live music, local crafters and vendors, food trucks and a closing show; admission will be free. Movies of the Market will be held at the farmers market and attendees were asked to bring lawn chairs and blankets; concessions proceeds were announced for a local cause. The council also announced a city-sponsored bulky-waste pickup day on Nov. 7; accepted items listed included scrap metal, paint cans, furniture and old appliances, while tires and batteries were specifically noted as items that will not be picked up. Residents were instructed to call City Hall at the number provided in the session by 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 4 to be placed on the pickup list.
City Hall will be closed on the upcoming holiday and the regular Monday meeting was rescheduled to Tuesday evening in the courtroom.
