Lismore council accepts Kathryn Weber's resignation, appoints Tori Bohlke to vacant seat

The Lismore City Council on Sept. 10 accepted the resignation of Council Member Kathryn Weber, who said she is moving out of town effective Sept. 11. The council approved Resolution 24.9.1 accepting the resignation and declaring a vacancy.
Following the resignation vote, the council appointed Tori Bohlke to the open council seat effective immediately. The motion to appoint Bohlke was made by Cliff Altman and approved by the council; Amber Bertrand, city clerk, will administer the oath of office and coordinate onboarding.
Council members indicated the appointment follows the League's guidance for filling a midterm vacancy when the filing period has passed and less than a full term remains. The council did not discuss other applicants at the meeting. The appointment concludes that agenda item; Bohlke will serve for the balance of the two-year term.
