Madelia council approves consent agenda, accepts donated 2015 Toro aerator

Chair Cody Eager called the meeting to order and confirmed the attendance of Councilmembers Mark Slater, Andy Gappa, Glen Christensen and Phyllis Schickling. Councilmember Glen Christensen moved to approve the consent agenda; Councilmember Mark Slater seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The council reviewed and approved the presented claims and check register showing total disbursements of $161,350.60. Major line items on the list included Madelia Light & Power, $41,267.88; Empire Pipe Services, $18,505.00; WW Blacktopping, Inc., $16,000.00; L&B Contractors LLC, $8,400.00; and Madelia Sanitation Inc., $8,747.37. The checks and vendors were presented as part of the routine financial approvals.
Councilmember Mark Slater moved and Councilmember Glen Christensen seconded approval of Resolution 2024-18, which accepts a donation from the Madelia’s Golf Course League of a 2015 Toro aerator with an assessed value of $7,000. The resolution passed on a unanimous vote: Cody Eager-Yes, Phyllis Schickling-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen-Yes and Mark Slater-Yes.
With no further business, Councilmember Phyllis Schickling moved to adjourn; Councilmember Glen Christensen seconded and the council voted unanimously to adjourn. The typed minutes are dated Sept. 10, 2024, and are attributed to City Administrator Chris Fischer. The council noted that meeting videos are available for public review at Madelia City Hall and that recordings control over the typed minutes in case of discrepancy.
