Baldwin Elementary principal thanks city for back-to-school support

Rodney Long, principal of Baldwin Elementary, used a point of privilege at the Sept. 3 Baldwin City Council work session to thank city officials and staff for the recent back-to-school bash.
"On behalf of Baldwin Elementary and all of our students, teachers and staff, there's about 500 of them this year," Long said, adding that the event drew broad community support and that parents expressed gratitude that they did not have to buy as much school supplies. He also singled out officers who provide presence at morning drop-off and thanked specific city staff involved in organizing the event.
Council members thanked Long for his remarks and said they valued the partnership with the school.
