Council to consider temporary entertainment district for fall festival

Staff said the district is temporary — used previously for fall festivals — and that Losritos, which already holds a city consumption license, will be the only authorized seller unless another venue secures a license and seeks council approval.
Staff described several safeguards: Losritos must verify patrons’ ages before serving alcohol, event monitors will patrol the boundary to prevent beverages from leaving the footprint, and staff will use cup stickers this year to identify alcoholic beverages. The staff member said the official map of the footprint was not included at the work session but will be available at the Monday meeting.
What’s next: The council will consider the resolution at its next meeting; if adopted, the temporary district would enable licensed sale and monitored consumption within the fall-festival area.
