Weber County Commission approves consent items, adopts Golden Spike fee changes and reappoints planning commissioner

At its June 23 meeting the Weber County Commission approved routine consent items, finalized fee changes for the Golden Spike Event Center and reappointed a member to the county Planning Commission.

The consent agenda (items F1–F10) included approval of 10 purchase orders (about $223,000 total) and 151 warrants totaling roughly $3.5 million. Finance staff Ricky Hatch reported that roughly $165,000 of the purchase-order total (about three-quarters) was for library purchases and materials; warrant spending included about $943,000 tied to road construction in Roy paid from transportation tax dollars, $531,000 (15%) for jail-related costs (including inmate health care, culinary and utilities), and other payments for contracted paramedic services, the county ice sheet and contributions to Weber Human Services. Hatch also listed the top payees as Roy City ($1.1 million), Vital Core Health Strategies ($478,000), Utah Athletic Foundation ($299,000), Weber Human Services ($233,000) and Historic 25th Street Foundation Incorporated ($180,000).

Commissioner Harvey moved to approve the consent items and Commissioner Bolos seconded; the motion carried by voice vote.

On agenda items requiring formal votes, the commission approved Resolution 26-2026 to reappoint Andrew Favero to the Weber County Planning Commission after staff reported he was the only applicant for the opening. Commissioners voted in favor on roll call.

Duncan Olsen presented the final reading of Ordinance 2026-11 to amend certain fees at the Golden Spike Event Center to keep rates aligned with inflation; commissioners approved the final reading by roll call vote.
