The New York Mills City Council on Jan. 13 approved two separate measures to accept small outside funds for community projects.
Resolution No. 01-13-2026 acknowledged acceptance of $575 from the New York Mills Community Fund to support the South Point Walking Trail Project; Councilor Grotheer moved approval, the motion was seconded by Councilor Maki and carried unanimously.
Council also approved Resolution No. 01-13-2026a recognizing a $3,800 cash donation from the estate of Gloria Aske to the New York Mills Fire Department; Councilor Hammond moved approval, seconded by Maki, and the council voted unanimously.
Both actions were formal acknowledgments of funds that will be used for the stated purposes; council members did not debate the measures at length.
