Lyon County adopts 2024 International Fire Code with Northern Nevada amendments

Community Development Director Gavin Henderson presented the update and reviewed the timeline that led staff to bring the ordinance forward. Henderson answered questions from commissioners during the presentation. No members of the public offered comment on the code change.
Commissioner Robert Jacobson moved to adopt the ordinance; Commissioner David Hockaday seconded the motion. The ordinance passed on a 5-0 vote.
Adoption aligns county code with the latest 2024 IFC cycle and associated regional amendments; staff indicated the code-change timeline began several months earlier and that the initiation followed standard review channels.
