At its Aug. 12 meeting the Lamberton City Council granted a zoning variance for 308 S. Main Street and approved multiple administrative and permit actions.
After a public hearing in which Leah Bittner described plans to add a front deck in the front-yard setback, and to replace and relocate a rear fence to the property line, council approved Resolution 2024-12 granting the variance. The record shows the motion carried 3–0 with L. Bittner recorded as abstaining and one member absent (Pfarr).
Council then approved building permit 2024-10 for the front deck and fence work at 308 S. Main Street (same abstention recorded) and approved building permit 2024-11 for 200 Juniper Street (shed and fence) unanimously (Irlbeck/Bittner).
Other actions included approving a one-time utility credit of $146.26 for Kelly’s School of Dance, adopting Library Board bylaw revisions as presented, approving the hire of Kelsy Holman for the custodial position at Grade 2 Starting Step, and pre-approving a one-day liquor license for an event during Iron Pour if the applicant (LJ’s/Lisa Jenniges) secures a charitable sponsor to apply for the license. The council also scheduled a work session for Aug. 26, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. to work on the 2025 budget and police coverage.
The meeting minutes show multiple motions recorded with movers and seconders for transparency; no contested roll-call votes with differing tallies were recorded for these items beyond the abstention noted for items tied to 308 S. Main Street. Council adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
