Lamberton Truth in Taxation hearing draws no public comment; levy to be set later

LAMBERTON — The Lamberton City Council held its annual Truth in Taxation public hearing on Dec. 8, 2025, and received no public comments or questions, council members said.
Mayor L. Sik called the hearing to order at 7:04 p.m. and listed council members L. Bittner, D. Irlbeck, L. Pfarr and A. Cairns as present. City clerk Valerie Halter told the council that residents receive estimated property tax statements for the coming year and may use the hearing to ask questions about their property valuations or the city’s tax rate.
Halter said no residents had come into city hall or called the clerk’s office about the estimated statements. Mayor Sik noted that the council will set the actual levy after the hearing during the council’s regular meeting. With no public comment and no questions from residents, the Truth in Taxation hearing was adjourned at 7:04 p.m.
The Truth in Taxation hearing provides a forum for taxpayers to review estimated notices and raise concerns before the city adopts a final levy; council action to set the levy is recorded in the subsequent regular meeting.
