Jackson County AESD board adopts $2.25 million budget, holds public hearing with no speakers

The Jackson County 4-H, Master Gardener and Agricultural Extension Service District Board adopted a $2,250,729 budget for fiscal year 2026-2027 on June 3, 2026, voting unanimously to approve Order No. AE-3-26 at a meeting in the Courthouse Auditorium.
District Board Chair Rick Dyer opened a public hearing on the proposed budget at 9:28 a.m. County Administrator Danny Jordan told the board the Budget Committee, meeting April 21, 2026, had recommended the $2,250,729 figure (AESD Order No. AE-2-26). Jordan said the district’s permanent rate limit is $0.0500 per $1,000 of assessed value and the adopted levy rate would be $0.0426 per $1,000—unchanged from the prior year. The notice of the Budget Committee’s summary and the hearing was published in the Rogue River Press on May 27, 2026, as required by state law.
No members of the public spoke during the hearing; Chair Dyer closed the public portion at 9:28 a.m. Following the hearing, District Board Member Colleen Roberts moved to approve Order No. AE-3-26 and District Board Member Randy Sparacino seconded. The motion passed with Roberts, Sparacino and Chair Dyer voting aye.
Under Oregon Revised Statute 294.438 the Board held the published hearing, and ORS 294.456 allows the District Board to make modifications to a budget approved by the Budget Committee within a 10 percent limit. The adopted budget is for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026. With no further business, Chair Dyer adjourned the meeting at 9:29 a.m.
