Lismore fire department orders radios; clerk warns of training deadline and water-rate increase

Fire Department representative Jim told the council that the department ordered a new gas meter and six radios. Jim said the radios were ordered and that once the City Clerk, Amber Bertrand, receives the bill he will submit it for reimbursement under a grant. He reported FF1 and FF2 training classes are scheduled to end in February and that he is obtaining a quote for a portable motor for the backup pumper so the unit can pump while running. The minutes also note a department steak fry scheduled for Jan. 26.
City Clerk Amber Bertrand told council that the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting will be held at the end of April and that to keep the meeting closed at least one councilmember or the mayor must be certified; clerks and council should complete the certification course and receive a certificate by Feb. 1. Bertrand also reported that Lincoln Pipestone Rural Water notified the city of a $0.15 water-price increase effective July 1, 2025. The clerk placed the training link in the agenda and will email it to any uncertified officials.
