Atchison County delays final vote on Rural Water District No. 5 pipeline while authorizing staff outreach

The commission recorded a consensus to proceed with the plan in principle, with the contingency that all parties meet on-site to confirm alignment and impacts. Commissioners also agreed to table a definitive vote on the construction until next week to allow that site meeting and any cost-share discussions to proceed. The commission asked Road and Bridge staff to contact Nutrien to discuss cost sharing; Road and Bridge staff member Emily Sternsdorff was authorized to make that outreach.
