Montville awards engineering and construction contracts, and approves NJDOT grant application for River Road

The Committee awarded professional-engineering contracts to Matarazzo Engineering ($8,500) and H2M Associates ($328,400), contracted Portofino Builders ($157,974.75) for storm-sewer repairs and D.L.S. Contracting ($671,415.62) for condo road resurfacing, and authorized submission of a NJDOT Municipal Aid grant application for River Road improvements.
At the June 9 meeting the Montville Township Committee approved several procurement actions and a grant application. The Committee awarded a professional-services contract to Matarazzo Engineering, LLC (not to exceed $8,500) for roadway and drainage design work for Phase 2 of Phase III of the Barney Lane/Forest Place/Redding Place/Forest Hill Road project and approved a separate professional services contract to H2M Associates, Inc. (not to exceed $328,400) for the Township’s 2026 water main replacement program.
After competitive bids, the Committee awarded the 2026 Storm Sewer Infrastructure Repair and Reconstruction Project to Portofino Builders LLC at a bid price of $157,974.75 and the 2026 Condo Road Resurfacing Project to D.L.S. Contracting, Inc. at a bid price of $671,415.62. The Township noted the availability of funds and the required certifications by the Chief Financial Officer for those awards.
Separately, Resolution 2026-231 authorized submission of a 2027 NJDOT Municipal Aid grant application for the River Road Improvement Project (Vreeland Avenue to Route 202) and authorized Township officials to sign the grant application and agreement on behalf of the Township.
All contract awards and the grant-application authorization were adopted by roll call vote at the meeting.
