Committee rescinds earlier ALPR order, then separately authorizes purchase under cooperative contract

At its June 9 meeting the Montville Township Committee rescinded an earlier authorization for Packetalk automatic license plate reader (ALPR) cameras and cancelled Purchase Order 26-01187 after the vendor identified an error that increased the original quote. Resolution 2026-232 rescinded Resolution 2026-224 and cancelled the purchase order in the amount of $99,202.00; the resolution took effect immediately.
Later in the meeting the Committee separately adopted Resolution 2026-235, which authorized the purchase of Packetalk ALPR cameras for the Montville Township Police Department under the Educational Service Commission of New Jersey Cooperative Purchasing System (ESCNJ) Contract #ESCNJ/AEPA 26D and listed the account allocation for the purchase as Police: Fixed ALPR Cameras C-04-56-157-013 ($101,132.00). The purchase was recommended by the Chief of Police, and the resolution was made available for public inspection as required.
Township officials said the rescission responded to an erroneous vendor quote; the later resolution uses a cooperative purchasing contract to authorize a purchase with an identified account allocation. The Committee adopted both the rescission (consent agenda) and the authorizing resolution during the June 9 meeting.
