The Downtown Corridor Enhancement Project is expected to begin within a week, with the first lot addressed being Knight’s Alley beside Shanty. Guzman said the overall project duration is not expected to exceed 240 days, estimating a completion date around Oct. 11, 2026.
On appointments, the commission unanimously approved the nomination of Judge Benjamin Burch as municipal court judge and Carey Pilgrim as solicitor for 2026. The commission also approved several administrative items during the meeting, including minutes, agenda, public hearing rules of decorum, and new proclamation guidelines requiring a commissioner sponsor.
