During the public-comment period resident Tyler Groskreutz asked the Council to consider three changes at the Marie Lane/Lookout Drive intersection to improve walking safety for his child: a 10-second delay on the east Lookout lane, moving a stop 10 feet, and installing a yellow flashing LED bar under a walk sign. Public Works Director Arnold asked Groskreutz to provide contact information so the Traffic & Safety Committee can review the request.
Benton Bakke asked about a Climate Action Commission ordinance, said he expects fuel prices will not decline and urged the City to pursue conservation measures and conversion of municipal vehicles to electric.
Staff updates included Finance Director Ryan encouraging residents to switch to the new online utility payment system, City Administrator McCann noting Memorial Day closures for Taylor Library and City Hall and a one-day delay in garbage collection, and an invitation for ideas on light pole art. The meeting adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
