Council approves New Life Addition plat and replat of Northport No. 27 for future Public Works site

Community Development Director Fischer told the Council that Benesch Properties plans to demolish the former Taco John’s building and build a psychological services facility, and that Benesch intends to buy part of the Options for Women parking lot and create shared access. Fischer also presented Northport No. 27, a replat of land at Rockford Road and Timm Road originally platted for industrial development. The replat divides the property into two lots: Lot 1 for a future Public Works building and Lot 2 reserved for future development. Because Nicollet County limits direct access on Timm Road, the project requires construction of Industry Court to provide appropriate site access. The Planning Commission recommended approval. The Council approved the Northport No. 27 plat; Council Members Steiner and Oachs voted no.
