The Lilydale City Council approved the meeting agenda and consent agenda items unanimously during its March 10 meeting and heard a presentation about a community cleanup event and several administrative announcements.
Councilmember Deborah Cornell moved to approve the agenda and Councilmember Jay Budge seconded; the motion passed 4-0. The consent agenda — which included approval of the Feb. 10 meeting minutes, acknowledgement of the February building permit report, approval of February financial reports and acknowledgement of the history project report — was moved by Councilmember Mary Kleinberg, seconded by Councilmember Deborah Cornell and approved 4-0.
Diane Scovill, representing the St. Paul Yacht Club, described a Community Cleanup Day scheduled for April 26 at 10 a.m., saying river-area groups have partnered to host the event and inviting community volunteers. City Administrator Mary Tollefson also provided an update on a May 3 history project event.
During council comments, Councilmember Deborah Cornell asked whether Mayor Lyle Hanzal had discussed a police report with legal counsel. City Attorney Kori Land cautioned the council about the potential to inadvertently disclose non-public information during meetings and advised councilmembers to direct specific questions to the Police Captain. Councilmember Mary Kleinberg asked whether the council might host a community golf event; members expressed support for considering it next year.
The meeting was adjourned on a 4-0 vote at 4:54 p.m.
