Lilydale council hires consultant for sewer/storm rate study and discusses switching billing to living units

Councilmember Lyle Hanzal and City Administrator Mary Tollefson reported the city engaged Shannon Sweeney of David Drown Associates to perform a sanitary and storm sewer rate study for $1,000. The study will inform possible rate structure changes.
Mayor John Diehl recommended keeping the overall household charge steady but moving from billing based on SAC (sewage-contribution) units to billing per living unit. Hanzal said he and Tollefson reviewed current rates and will present a report at the December city council meeting.
No formal rate-change ordinance or final vote occurred at the Nov. 12 meeting; the council approved moving forward with the consultant study and asked for a detailed report next month.
