Cedartown commission adopts FY2026 budget, closes alley to deed to church and approves multiple routine measures

Each motion passed with all commissioners present voting "Aye" and no recorded "No" votes.
The alley closure follows an earlier public hearing in which City Attorney Carey Pilgrim asked for comment and no members of the public spoke. The Commission approved RESOLUTION 22, 2025 to close the alley between Cave Spring Street and Essex Street and deed it to First Cedartown Church.
Procurement action: The Commission approved the purchase of a Chevrolet Silverado MD (6500 Series) from Donahoo Chevrolet in the amount of $68,277. The manager27s report and the record do not specify financing source for the vehicle purchase; the purchase was approved as presented.
Licensing and routine governance: The beer package license for Khoker Ali (La Esquina Supermercado) was approved without discussion. Commissioners also approved the FY2026 Schedule of Fees and adopted the FY2026 Budget by unanimous vote.
