Winter Harbor selectmen approve warrants, hear road update and festival recap

The Winter Harbor Selectmen convened on Aug. 11 and approved several routine finance items, received public-works and events updates, and heard a public comment about capital planning.
The board approved the Selectmen meeting minutes from July 28, 2025 (recorded as Approved 2-0), Warrants #6 (Aug. 5) and #7 (Aug. 7) (Approved 3-0), the Treasurer’s Report dated Aug. 7, 2025 (Approved 3-0) and the Tax Collector’s Report dated Aug. 7, 2025 (Approved 3-0). The minutes list account balances including a Trio-General Ledger balance of $613,251.14 (8/7/2025), a six-month certificate of deposit at $105,382.87 and investment/bond market values reported most recently at $3,522,980.90 (6/30/2025).
On public works, the Fire Chief/Road Commissioner reported that Summer Harbor Road work is finished and that new speed-limit signs will be installed when they arrive.
Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb gave a post-event recap: the Lobster Festival had its biggest dinner sales in history, a well-attended parade and a popular car show. Liscomb also told the board she has passed a certification and "is now a Certified Clerk of Maine."
During public comment J. Jacobs asked whether capital improvement plans are in place; Selectman S. Ribble asked whether letters could be sent to Planning Board members who are not attending meetings. The board acknowledged receipt of a Historical Society letter during the meeting. The session adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
The minutes record no contested votes or formal debate on the finance items; no appropriation amounts or contract awards beyond routine entries were recorded.
