Summer Harbor Road near completion; new fire truck en route and town manager flags event, staffing and float issues

At the July 28 meeting of the Town of Winter Harbor Selectmen, town officials provided several operational updates, including roadwork, fire equipment and town events.
The Fire Chief/Road Commissioner reported that Summer Harbor Road should be completed by the beginning of next week. The same update included a fire department equipment note that a new fire truck has been ordered, is currently being lettered, and is expected to be delivered in mid‑August.
Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb briefed the board on a range of administrative items: training‑cost pressures (she and staff member Misti have mandatory classes and she does not see room in the budget to pay for a budget committee member’s class this year), progress on the Lobster Festival (noting a large parade and newly added car show and Friday cornhole games), an item listed as a Rural Community Development Opportunity that she will sign and pursue with HCPC, and a problem with recently installed floats that do not have sufficient flotation; M. Young was asked to inspect.
No formal votes were recorded on these operational updates. The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
