The Big Bear City Community Services District Board of Directors adopted Resolution 2024-12 on July 15, 2024, directing that delinquent trash collection and delinquent water service charges be collected on the county tax roll following a noticed public hearing.
Administrative Department Manager Kaylyn Johnson opened the hearing and told the Board the measure continues the District’s existing process for collecting delinquent accounts and that 52 notices were mailed to affected customers. Staff answered questions from board members and members of the public provided comment during the hearing, which was opened at 5:13 p.m. and closed at 5:22 p.m.
By motion of Director Bob Rowe, seconded by Director Al Ziegler, the Board adopted the resolution by unanimous roll-call vote (Rowe, Russo, Walsh, Ziegler voting aye). The Board recorded the resolution caption and directed that the full text be filed in the District’s Resolution and Ordinance Book Number 36.
The resolution directs the District to submit a written report of delinquent charges for placement on the county tax roll. Johnson described the action as a continuation of the District’s current collection practice; the staff presentation did not specify individual account balances or the total dollar amount to be placed on the tax roll. Public commenters’ names and statements are not specified in the meeting record.
The Board’s action means affected customers will have outstanding trash and water charges included with property taxes as authorized by the resolution and applicable law. The District will carry out the administrative steps required to place the charges on the tax roll in accordance with the resolution and state law.
