At its Feb. 2 meeting the Mesabi East School District board ratified a Master Agreement with the Confidential Clerical Employees Association covering 2025–2027, approved a Joint Powers Agreement related to acquisition and betterment of an education facility in Mt. Iron, Minnesota, and approved Amendment Four to extend the term of the district’s agreement with Kelly Services, Inc. through Jan. 1, 2028.
Director Undeland moved and Director LaFrenier seconded ratification of the confidential clerical agreement; minutes record the motion passed with all in favor. The joint powers agreement was moved by Director Undeland and seconded by Chair Walt Hautala; a roll-call vote recorded Ayes: Directors LaFrenier, Undeland, Adams and Hautala, with no recorded Nayes. Director Undeland moved and Director Adams seconded approval of the Kelly Services amendment; the motion passed with all in favor.
The consent agenda (approved earlier in the meeting) also included a tuition agreement with Minnesota Transitions Charter School for one student beginning Jan. 7, 2026. No further contractual details or dollar amounts were specified in the minutes.
