Committee member (who earlier objected to aspects of the budget) reiterated concerns voiced in prior meetings about jail-related spending and revenue collection, saying he could not support the budget previously because of unresolved oversight and fee-collection issues. "I couldn't support the budget," the committee member said, citing a shortfall in inmate-related revenues and a need for improved fiscal accountability in the jail.
The judge's office and county staff will carry forward implementation tasks connected to the appropriations. The court did not record a roll-call tally in the transcript; the adoption was completed by voice vote following the second reading.
The court next moved on to unrelated agenda items; there was no executive session requested during the meeting.
