The Newport City Planning Commission on Feb. 10 approved its Dec. 9 meeting minutes, voted to retain Brandon as chair and adjourned following an annual training session and discussion of upcoming land-use work.
During roll call Administrator Hatch recorded Commissioners Ramali, Kermies, Fueling and Bonia and the chair as present. Commissioner Fueling moved and Commissioner Kermies seconded approval of the Dec. 9 minutes; the commission approved the minutes by voice vote.
Later in the meeting commissioners discussed the annual requirement to address the chair position. A motion to retain Brandon as chair was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
The commission also opened the East Ridge Heights public hearing and tabled it to March 10 so staff can present updated plans and re-notice neighbors. The meeting adjourned after the scheduled training and business concluded.
Details to note: The transcript records voice votes and motions but does not include a roll-call tally in the record for the chair-retention motion.
