Council member Lentz suggested that a survey could include more than just the pool repair option and discussed distribution options. Council member Conrad cautioned about the limits of mailed surveys, saying a survey sent to 1,000 households could return about 100 responses and risk decisions being made on the views of the 10% who reply. Council members agreed more planning and broader outreach would be necessary before any funding decision.
The discussion was exploratory: the council granted the Park and Recreation committee permission to proceed with planning and outreach, but took no binding vote to fund repairs or begin design work. Any future action would require specific project estimates, identified funding sources and a formal council vote.
