Miltona Township accepts audit and treasurer reports, approves routine bills and licenses

Miltona Township supervisors approved routine financial business at their Feb. 18, 2025 meeting and, in a follow-up audit meeting, found the clerk’s and treasurer’s books to be in balance.
At the regular meeting, the board accepted the treasurer’s report showing a checking balance of $88,440.80, a money market of $1,002.72 and an IntraFi account of $447,115.81 for a reported total of $454,130.98. The board also approved payment of bills totaling $4,605.97; motions to accept the treasurer’s report and pay the bills were recorded as carried 3-0.
The board held an audit meeting beginning at 7:31 p.m. on Feb. 18. Supervisors audited the clerk’s and treasurer’s books and recorded total cash of $532,737.13, broken down into checking ($1,964.12), money market ($1,002.46) and an IntraFi account ($529,770.41), with detailed fund balances for the general, road, fire, gopher, chloride, and several bond funds. The board moved to accept the books; the motion passed 3-0.
During regular business the board also recorded several administrative items: approval of Resolution 2025-1 accepting the validity of a petition regarding Chicago Club LN NE; authorization of a right-of-way approval letter conditioned on contractor restoration of any damage; scheduling the Board of Equalization for April 11 at 9:00 a.m.; and approval of consent to on-sale and Sunday liquor licenses for Chet’s Lakeside Inn, Inc. and Jim & Judy’s.
The board noted that Tom Blank and Brent Boesl presented the 2026 fire budget at a fire board meeting; Miltona Township’s share of the proposed $120,000 budget was recorded as $83,467 (69.15%). The board also approved a limited seasonal closure of Parkers Road for operator training after a request from a resident identified only as David.
The next regular meeting was set for Monday, March 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Miltona Community Center. The meeting adjourned at 7:29 p.m.
