United South Central workforce coordinator asks New Richland businesses to partner on student career experiences

Pam CR, the workforce coordinator contracted with United South Central School District, introduced herself to the council and outlined plans to expand local career-exploration opportunities for students.
Pam said she spent the summer meeting local business owners and wants to "keep some of that exploration here in your community," noting roughly 22 students last year left school for the workforce and she would like to connect some of those students with local employers. She described programs returning this year, including a Budget City financial simulation, a mobile health lab that provides hands-on experience with medical equipment, and the Big Ideas trailer scheduled to visit the district Oct. 14 to showcase trade experiences.
Pam asked the council and community members to volunteer for events, to open their businesses for tours, or to host job-shadow opportunities. She specifically mentioned reaching out to ambulance crews and local medical staff to support the mobile health events and said she will follow up by email with local organizations to arrange participation.
Next steps: Pam will provide contact information to council and follow up with emails to recruit local partners and volunteers for upcoming student events.
