Resident urges Milroy to consider larger tile for northeast drainage line

John Christensen told the Milroy City Council at its Feb. 23 meeting that paperwork from 1987 documents the installation of a tile line northeast of the city and that the city should consider upsizing the tile if repairs are required.
According to Christensen, the 1987 documentation was forwarded to the city attorney, whose review indicated the city would be responsible for future repairs. Christensen told the council, “If/when repairs are needed a larger tile should be considered as to what is there now. If this is done, they would like the city to level this off.”
Council members and Public Works Director Sando discussed practical matters including tile size, estimated costs and obtaining quotes from local companies. The council also reviewed plans around the connected sand-trap feature and reiterated a previously stated approach to repair the sand-trap cover first, with a full tile replacement to be considered only if subsequent inspection and quotes justify replacement.
The discussion did not result in immediate authorization for replacement; the council requested cost estimates and documentation to inform any future decisions.
