Pine Springs council approves returning escrow to resident, approves bills and financials and discusses Oakdale Drive study

The Pine Springs City Council voted on several consent and administrative items on Aug. 6, returning escrow funds to a resident, approving the previous month's minutes and authorizing transfers in city financial accounts.
Resident Nick Hagemann asked that escrow money the city holds for streets and septic be released now that the work is complete. Mayor Christensen moved to return the money contingent on county verification of the septic; Councilman Adams seconded and all council members present voted yes (motion 24-73).
The council approved the July 2024 minutes (motion 24-79), approved payment of the bills (motion 24-80), and approved the financial statements while authorizing Administrator Nick to transfer funds to public entity accounts (motion 24-81). All three motions passed unanimously.
On Oakdale Drive, Mayor Christensen reported he spoke with the Mahtomedi mayor and that Mahtomedi has no allotment for road work on Oakdale Drive in 2025. Mahtomedi plans a feasibility study and will present results for council review before suggesting a 2026 budget amount; Mahtomedi requested Pine Springs share in the cost but provided no figure. Councilmember Adams noted the city has funds to fill potholes and will proceed with immediate repairs; the council said it will firm up the overall budget at the September meeting.
Mayor Christensen moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 p.m.; Councilman Kinney seconded and the motion carried (motion 24-82).
