The board approved a contract to let Sarah Luchek Foods operate the Bears Den concession stand at home events. Under the arrangement, the vendor will pay the district $50 per night for use of facilities, provide its own food, staffing and insurance, and manage sales with a card-payment system. Administration said the contract mirrors language used in the district—s daycare agreement and that concession pricing may be higher than when the school ran the kitchen in-house.
The board also approved personnel appointments, naming TJ Frerick as assistant activities director and Kayla Thompson Johnson as C-team volleyball coach. Administration said Frerick will take on many game-supervision duties formerly managed by other administrators and that the hires should strengthen the activities department ahead of the fall season.
Administration said it will notify the public about menu and pricing changes in advance and help the vendor share information via the district Facebook page and school communications.
Next steps: administration will complete vendor onboarding and provide schedules and operational details to the vendor and finalize contracts for the new hires.
