Oak Park Heights council approves consent agenda, replaces squad car and funds park cleanup

At its March 25, 2025 meeting the Oak Park Heights City Council approved the consent agenda and several routine items affecting public works, public safety and parks.
The consent agenda—moved and seconded by council members as recorded in the meeting—included approval of bills and investments, minutes for May 11, 2025, replacement of Brey Park hockey boards, authorization of a 2025 street-sweeping contract, purchase of a lawn mower, replacement of City Hall parking lot lightheads, and authorization of 2025 chip-seal maintenance contracts. The consent agenda also included a resolution granting a one-day raffle for the Stillwater Area High School theater parent association on April 19, 2025; the council approved the consent agenda by roll-call vote.
The council also authorized the purchase of a 2025 Ford Interceptor Explorer to replace a police vehicle declared a total loss after an accident. The police chief said Ford could secure a replacement quickly and staff expected the vehicle to arrive by the end of April; the council approved the purchase and authorized sale of the salvaged 2022 vehicle at auction.
Council approved allocating roughly $6,500 from budgeted projects to clean Cob Park Hill along P Avenue North, including landscaping work and rebuilding a damaged 6-foot black chain-link fence. Assistant Administrator Pinsky said the work is budgeted and staff collected competitive quotes.
Other announcements included a community cleanup day scheduled for May 17, 2025, and Party in the Park on June 5, 2025.
