Council approves ADP payroll, asset sales and routine calendar items

The Jasper City Council approved several administrative and housekeeping measures during its Dec. 9 meeting.
On payroll, Clerk-Treasurer Renae Thode presented an ADP proposal that included a 30% discount, six months free service and a mobile app; staff said the annual cost would be under $400. Council voted to move payroll to ADP (motion by Deb Plahn, second by Tim Houg; all ayes).
Other approved motions (all recorded as unanimous 'ayes') included: selling old QCC tables at $10 each (motion by Deb Plahn, second Tim Houg), granting a permanent disconnect for Troy Kallemeyn (motion by Tim Houg, second Deb Plahn), approving meeting minutes from Nov. 18 and the Nov. 20 budget meeting, approving receipts and claims to date, approving 2026 council meeting dates and city holidays (motions by Tim Houg and Stacie Smith respectively), and approving 2026 overlay plans (motion by Deb Plahn, second Stacie Smith).
Staff also reported completing video and photo inventory for property/casualty insurance and that the Geronimo Power solar proposal is stalled pending resolution of issues with Xcel and a change of company staff.
The council adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
