The SPPT committee voted 3-0 on June 24 to send an updated 2026–2027 bell schedule for Monroe-cluster schools to the full Board of Education for consideration.
Colon Moore, who presented the schedule to the committee, said the revision accommodates early-release days the board approved earlier this year and “allows us to meet the required number of hours for instruction.” Moore told members that the adjustment moves each bell time at each school up five minutes.
Committee members asked whether the change applied districtwide and whether the time shift was larger; Moore confirmed the adjustment is only for the Monroe cluster and is a five-minute change at each bell. After brief clarification, a member moved to send the schedule to the full board; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously, 3-0.
The committee also approved the meeting agenda and the minutes from its April 29, 2026 meeting by voice vote 3-0 earlier in the session. The chair said the bell-schedule referral and any accompanying materials will be presented to the full board for final action.
The SPPT committee scheduled its next meeting for Aug. 26, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. via Zoom and adjourned the June 24 session after the referral vote.
