Atkinson CIP committee adopts revised score for Kimball House & Barn repainting

The Atkinson Capital Improvement Program Committee unanimously adopted an updated project rating for repainting the Kimball House and Barn and directed staff to update the CIP master database, the committee recorded Jan. 15, 2026.

The committee reviewed a request from Town Administration (referencing a Jan. 9, 2026 email) and supporting materials including an August 2025 contractor quote and photos of the building’s exterior submitted by the chair of the Atkinson Historical Society, according to the meeting record.

Member Jeff Smith asked whether a mid‑cycle review of CIP scoring would be appropriate and said the CIP process is open to feedback and challenges to ratings. Committee members agreed that the scoring omission was likely an oversight: estimated costs had already been updated in the 2026 CIP database, but scoring had not been reviewed.

The minutes show two scoring table entries for the 2026 submission and record that members "unanimously agreed to the following rating." The project is listed with an estimated cost of $27,000. The committee directed a staff member to finalize the database entry and to revisit the scoring process during the 2027 cycle to consider a standard operating procedure for mid‑cycle reviews.

Karen McFadden was assigned to update the CIP master database (Final 2026 CI V2 8.30.25) in the CIP team room; the minutes note that the update was completed and submitted by McFadden on Jan. 16, 2026.
