Atkinson ZBA denies rehearing for 'The Cozy Confectionary' home-business decision and adjourns

The Atkinson Zoning Board of Adjustment on Jan. 14 denied a motion for rehearing filed under RSA 677:2 by Jolene R. MacKeen concerning the board’s Dec. 11, 2025 approval of a Special Exception for a home business called "The Cozy Confectionary" at 47 Main St.
Member John Troy said he had reviewed the applicant’s letter and found "there was nothing new in the letter that was not previously considered," and Members Corey Barnes and Vice Chair Scott Sullivan agreed the original decision should stand. Member Troy moved to deny the motion for rehearing; the motion was seconded by Member Barnes and passed unanimously (3-0).
Following the rehearing vote the board moved to close the public hearing and voted to adjourn; Vice Chair Sullivan adjourned the meeting at 8:25 PM. Minutes for the meeting were prepared by Gretchen Grosky and the next regular ZBA meeting is scheduled for Feb. 11, 2026.
