Separately, the Swisher Economic Alliance has asked the council to choose one of several logos to be used as the city’s official logo and informs the council it received a $5,000 Community Branding Grant and is requesting a $3,500 city match to pay for signs.
The agenda also includes consideration of an event permit for the “A Very Merry Christmas in Swisher” parade on Dec. 14, 2024 (4–7 p.m.) with the city to provide no-parking signs and barricades, and a consent-agenda item to renew a dance-hall permit for Nick Neuendorf (DanceMor Ballroom) effective Oct. 1, 2024–Sept. 30, 2025. If the council approves Resolution 58-2024, the city would contract with Advanced Traffic Control Inc. for the specified signing and striping work. If the council approves the $3,500 match request, the Swisher Economic Alliance would use combined funds (grant plus match) to produce signage under the branding grant.
