Rose Creek council approves relocation and May 5 start for Farmers Market

The Rose Creek City Council on April 6 approved relocating the town’s Farmers Market to the parking lot off Highway 56 by the city park and authorized the market to run Tuesdays from 4–6 p.m. beginning May 5 and continuing through Oct. 13, 2026.
Resident Madi Riles requested the move and asked to use the city’s barricades to close that section of the parking lot for market hours; she also asked that city hall be available as a rain backup. Councilmember Wendel Sprung moved to approve the Farmers Market request; Councilmember Andrew Felten seconded the motion, which carried.
The decision gives the market a seasonal schedule and a permanent location at the city park parking lot; organizers and vendors will coordinate barricade placement and alternate indoor space at city hall in the event of rain. The council did not record additional permit conditions in the minutes.
