The Whitpain Township Board of Supervisors on June 2 voted unanimously to table a motion to award the Community Center mechanical construction contract after township staff reported outstanding subcontractor paperwork.
Chair Scott M. Badami moved to table the award of the mechanical contract to Hirschberg Mechanical, LLC of Willow Grove, PA, the low bidder at $908,200; Vice Chair Kimberly J. Klauder seconded the motion, and the board approved the tabling action with a unanimous vote.
Township Manager Eric Traub told the board the prime contractor had completed required submissions and met outstanding requirements, but ‘‘the Township was awaiting information from one remaining subcontractor and had been actively requesting the necessary documentation.’’ Traub said staff hopes the outstanding information ‘‘would be ready for Board consideration at the next meeting on the 16th, without the need for further tabling.’’
The board did not take further action on the Community Center contract at the June 2 meeting. The item will remain on the agenda for the board’s next regular meeting on June 16, when staff expects to present the complete procurement file for formal consideration.
Meeting minutes state the board met in hybrid mode, with closed‑captioning provided for Zoom, and that an executive session on a personnel matter would follow the public meeting.
