New Germany accepts $5,000 tanker sale and a $5,000 DNR grant; resolution passed

The New Germany City Council on Sept. 3 recorded the sale of a 1994 F700 tanker for $5,000 and voted 4-0 to approve Resolution 2024-16 authorizing the sale. Councilmember Thomas Mielke moved to approve the resolution and Lorn Herrmann seconded the motion, which carried 4-0.
Fire Department staff reported the department received a $5,000 DNR grant and has applied for a Compeer grant with a decision expected in September. The report also noted that contractor or worker Dale Kutzke is scheduled to begin work next week on repairs to the fire garage (tear off fascia, soffit and re-siding).
Separately, staff noted water and sewer department concerns about a backup generator; Lucas with Advanced Power will attend the next council meeting to discuss generator maintenance and options. The council did not record further formal actions on the generator at this meeting.
